Better one handful with tranquility than two handfuls with toil and chasing after the wind.

If you are what you eat, I am pork ribs/smoked duck/instant noodles (the last resort) The ears are feeding on Brenton Brown? - Holy The ears are feeding on Muse - Stockholm Syndrome
I HAVE A DEVASTATING HEADACHE. IT'S... COLOSSAL.
I just heard three opinions about the headache around the dinner table... The verdict is that I have a rather stupid sleeping schedule. I suppose my family has a point.
To end a year, and to start a new one, I'll have to say God is love and love is the best thing that could ever exist. (I know "thing" might be the wrong word to use, but whatever.) I could whine about how slow the internet is but I'm sure that's been said and done already. I could also whine about the lack of snow in Singapore and the state my stomach is in (post-Christmas feasting is standard in this household... we have too much food and I am definitely not saying it's a bad thing. It's just... consequential.) But whining will only make my head hurt more, and probably yours, too.
Instead, I shall count my blessings (sorry if I leave out something that's got to do with you... my head hurts and it's a good excuse) for all you people to see, just because you are currently bothering to read this.
Ruth counts her innumerable blessings (and counted not according to preference) 01. We got cable: World Cup!! Endless nights of testosterone-filled EPL matches!! I have never made it a big deal to tell everyone how much I like soccer. (But now you know.) 02. Some rubbish that happened, which turned out to be less rubbish-like. You know how "God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose" and all that? It's true! I'm that much smarter now. 03. Dresses and tops and whatnot The Parents bought for me 04. Four necklaces for Christmas: an ornament, a glass leaf from Venice, a flamingo, and three pendants 05. Chronologically: Meeting Skye (we're alike but not quite, she is such a gem and without her there would be no Mikexxx) and Luke (zoo! photos! Starbucks!) and James (touristy to the max - Little India, Chinatown) and Mark (he passed me germs from China because of the yummiest toffeenut latte, Mandarin practice, 7:45, plus we had met when I was four - I have ALWAYS wanted to meet people I used to play with) 06. The holiday in Thailand, which was tremendously holidayey. Also, The Saujana. 07. Intense Starbucksing with Rach Tea 08. Talking outside Kenny Rogers with Meg, and camp horse 09. A bunch of amazing grapes we bought at Cold Storage one night... the skin peeled off just like that. 10. Email and emails 11. Hanging out with Tim after months and months and months of not 12. Still being able to talk to Kayla and Rory and Mar in spite of distance 13. The Liger shirt my brother made for me 14. All the meals/desserts/cake/chocolate Nick and Jeremy made for everyone - especially the dinner at Jeanne's house 15. My birthday present(s) from Meg, Rach, and Jeanne, my absolute loves 16. The ridiculous amount of patience my parents and Meg and Rach have had with me 17. Prison Break 18. Smses, emails, and letters from friends I received out of the blue 19. Year-end madness, which is always stressful but ultimately really fun 20. Dinners and lunches with my grandma, aunt, and grandaunt 21. Watching Muse live in a few weeks' time, for free (sort of, I have an amazing brother) 22. Knowing I can't wait for next year to come and surprise me 23. I can actually get the accounts done without screwing up too badly!!! 24. God's providence in getting me to Indonesia... Actually, all of us. And Rach being there for the Semarang bit! 25. Norma Jean 26. Rose Veranda and King's College Choir with Meg and Rach... it has to be annual now 27. The rain: I love that it's been cool around here... even if it's inconvenient it beats sweating pools of uric acid. 28. My purple walls - it's going to work with turqoise after all!! 29. The abundant availability of food in Singapore. And Milo. 30. Living with the fact that having been justified by God's grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.
Okay. I have to end there. There needs to be a massive cleaning of my room before tomorrow night's dinner. Even though Rooby and I love the coolness wet weather brings, we're really praying it doesn't tomorrow, because the beach is going to be gorgeous if skies are clear.
A bunch of pictures from the past few days... (LTT and post-LTT photos will be up once I get the DVD from Luke)
